
Alexander Shmagin has always focussed on all facets of international commercial law. He studied law first at St. Petersburg State University and then at the University of Hamburg. After his first state examination, he worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law. He completed his legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Court and successfully passed the second state examination.
He began practising as a lawyer in 2014. After almost 10 years work for law firms in Berlin he joins KDB.legal Koch Boës as Of Counsel.
Mr. Shmagin advises investors on all aspects of corporate and real estate law and represents clients in proceedings before state courts and international arbitration institutions. He has extensive experience in advising on M&A and property transactions and in conducting due diligence.
He is also an active lecturer (Wismar University of Applied Sciences) and speaker (for the Chambers of Industry and Commerce Berlin, Hamburg and Potsdam, GiZ etc.).
He is a member of the German Bar Association, the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and the German-Russian Lawyers Association.
