Anna Kopylova studied law at the University of Bonn (Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn). She passed her First State Examination in Cologne and her Second State Examination in Lübeck. In addition, she studied economics and sociology at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” in Moscow and Singapore.
Her professional experience includes work at Norton Rose Fulbright in Hamburg, where she was involved in cross-border disputes and international arbitration proceedings within the “Dispute Resolution and Litigation” practice, with a particular focus on maritime and transport law as well as legal matters involving Russia. She also gained experience in maritime commercial law at CMS Hasche Sigle and at the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) in Hamburg. Furthermore, she worked as a research associate at a Cologne-based law firm specializing in competition, media, and copyright law.
Anna Kopylova has been with KDB.legal Koch Boës in Hamburg since October 2020 and has been admitted to the German Bar since February 2024.
She advises and represents clients in complex court and arbitration proceedings, with a particular focus on international transport law. She has been involved in international arbitration proceedings under the DIS, GAFTA, and MKAS Rules and has conducted cases in both English and Russian.
Beyond her core practice, she has a particular interest in legal issues relating to art and culture.
In 2025, she was recognized by Handelsblatt in cooperation with Best Lawyers as “Ones to Watch” in the field of dispute resolution.
